When you’re headed to the Pier, it’s hard to miss the historic Looff Hippodrome Carousel. The Hippodrome was built in 1916 by Charles I.D. Looff, and the carousel was built a few years later. The Looff Hippodrome Carousel remains one of the most popular spots on the Pier for people of all ages.
It features wooden animals to ride on, which includes horses, a rabbit, sleighs, and a goat. At only a few bucks per person, this is a fun experience with a deeply rooted Santa Monica history that can’t be missed.

Heal the Bay’s mission is to protect over 100 local animals, and your family can come to experience hands-on fun, educational programs, and immersive visual experiences.
