Summer is coming to a close. It’s time for the kids to get back in school and get back into a normal routine. It also means it’s time to sneak in those last summer events while you can.

Whether you are looking for a fun night out with family, a date activity, or a unique event to attend with friends, here are some of the top end-of-summer happenings in Santa Monica that you’ll want to be sure and check out.

Twilight On The Pier

Where: 200 Santa Monica Pier

When: Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., Aug 21 – Sept 25

Cost: Free

Opening night of Twilight on the Pier is happening on August 21st, starting at 7:00 p.m. It’s the 35th consecutive year for Twilight on the Pier, which is an event for the whole family. Come see new and established artists play music, enjoy comedy acts, play games, activities and more. Music spans from local to worldwide artists and sounds, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. It goes until 10 p.m. each night and is an event that is not to be missed.

LA Food & Wine Festival

Where: Barker Hangar, 3021 Airport Ave

When: Aug 22-25

The Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival is happening in Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar this year. It is your chance to meet and see celebrity chefs, enjoy cuisines and products of all types, partake in tastings, and attend a wide range of exciting events. From events like LA’s Faves and Craves hosted by Jet Tila to Dinner at Otium with chefs Tim Hollingsworth and Travis Swikard and everything in between, food and drink enthusiasts won’t want to miss out on the LA Food & Wine Festival in Santa Monica this year.

Jazz On The Lawn

Where: Gandara Park

When: Aug 25, 5-7 p.m.

Cost: Free

Jazz on the Lawn is a free summer concert series that is back for its 14th summer. It is hosted by the City of Santa Monica Government and Santa Monica Cultural Affairs at Gandara Park. Come for its last Sunday event this summer from 5-7 p.m. Whether you’re a jazz fan or just looking for an end-of-summer event that you can take the whole family to, Jazz on the Lawn is for you.

Enjoy both jazz and world music, a free dance lesson, family-friendly games and activities, and more. You won’t want to miss the performance by the octet Nutty, which will include many rock and jazz classics of all kinds. Games and activities for the family start at 4 p.m. and go until 7 p.m.

Summer Dash 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon

Where: 2000 Ocean Ave

When: Aug 25, 7am

Cost: Starting at $25.99, $10 off for members

If you love to run and love marathons or are just looking for a healthy activity to do, you won’t want to miss out on the Summer Dash. The course is easy to follow, and it runs around the beach path. Everyone gets a medal and can choose from an array of goodies, in addition to water and fruit. It is a relaxing and fun race that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone of all ages, so don’t forget to bring the family!

Stop By Big Dean’s On The Boardwalk For Good Food & Fun
