5 Santa Monica Spring Events To Enjoy This Year
13th Annual Santa Monica Airport ArtWalk
The Santa Monica Airport ArtWalk is happening Saturday, March 23rd from 12 to 5 p.m., and admission is free. People of all ages can enjoy open artist studios, workshops, music, food, and more. It takes place along Airport Avenue between Bundy Dr. and 23rd St.
Enjoy art, exhibits, and demonstrations by Santa Monica Art Studios, the ARENA 1 Gallery, Santa Monica College Ceramic Arts, and The Museum of Flying. Enjoy theatre, music, and workshops by The Ruskin Group Theatre, Subsuelo, Las Colibrí, Pilot Outfitters, Ruby Gara, and more. There will also be a ton of fun and activities to enjoy with the little ones, too.
Do you love cycling? Exercise for a good cause on Sunday, June 2. It’s Pedal on the Pier’s 9th year for its fundraiser, which is happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and you’ll help raise funds for Los Angeles’ under-served youth. Enjoy the high energy atmosphere of this outdoor cycling studio, which features over 100 teams set out to raise a combined $1,250,000 through the Harold Robinson Foundation.
If you haven’t heard of YALLWEST festival and you’re a book lover, you’re going to have to check it out this spring. It’s happening May 3rd and 4th at Santa Monica High School. It features over 100 authors and presenters, including New York Times Bestsellers and acclaimed young adult authors. Additionally, you’ll be in the midst of notable TV, film, video game, and comic creators. Enjoy panels, book signings, and more. Check out the festival lineup.
Spring Festival & Rustic Crafters Fair
You and the family won’t want to miss the Spring Festival & Rustic Crafters Fair on Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is creative fun for everyone to enjoy, including arts and crafts, face painting, a moon bounce, a petting zoo, food, shopping and more. Don’t forget to do an egg hunt at 12 p.m. Mark your calendar for this exciting event on Easter weekend!
Ready to get the best spring produce from local farmers? Farmers markets are happening all over Santa Monica, and while they do happen year-round, spring is one of the best times to go. Check out the downtown farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Arizona Avenue. On Saturday, you could also visit the Virginia Avenue Park farmers market from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and don’t forget to check out the Main Street farmers market in Heritage Square on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
